South(ern) Africa is alive with possibility! This is the slogan from the International Marketing Council of South Africa. Until recently South Africa was unfortunately often only known for our past struggles and the qualities of a few special people such as former president Nelson Mandela, heart surgeon Chris Barnard and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. Many of our international colleagues would not even be capable of plotting South Africa on a map and needless to say – have never been to the most beautiful southern part of Africa!

This is soon to change! With the Soccer[ Football] World Cup in 2010 tens of thousands of spectators will cross our shores for the first time. This is an opportunity for Southern Africa to showcase all its beauty and to attract a much wider audience in years to come.

If South Africa is not that well known, we need not say much about the awareness amongst international travelers about Lesotho. It is not well known that this small country is one of the most beautiful destinations in Southern Africa

The Kingdom of Lesotho, entirely surrounded by the Republic of South Africa, covers 30,355 square kilometres (11,720 sq mi). The most notable geographic fact about Lesotho, apart from its status as an enclave, is that it is the only independent state in the world that lies entirely above 1,000 meters (3,300 ft) in elevation.

Social Media now allows everyone to experience the beauty of this part of the world. The Developers of the Arrive Alive Road Safety Website has recently launched the website Quad24.co.za in an effort to promote the safe and responsible enjoyment of quad bike/ ATV trails across Southern Africa.

Quad Bike enthusiasts are invited to share photos of their travels and the public can now enjoy the scenic beauty of parts of Southern Africa they might never have seen. These parts include locations such as:

Mafeteng
Malealea
Mount Moorosi
Ramabanta
Semonkong

The involvement of the Arrive Alive website contributes towards greater awareness of road safety amongst quad bike riders. Aspects such as quad bike safety, quad bikes and children and respect for nature are some of the aspects given attention.

Quad 24 is a “work in progress” and it is the vision of the developers that this platform will contribute towards more people appreciating all the “Possibilities of Southern Africa”!
